The Circle of Life

Exuberant Anticipation

Today as I sit here in anticipation of my granddaughter making her grand entrance into the world, I can’t help but think of the miracle and the circle of life.  There are many emotions and feelings pulsing through me now that I’m not sure how to put them into words.  I just can’t think of any that give justice to how I feel right now and truly signify my true feelings.  Words like awesome, awe, exhilarating, and exciting, just don’t have the power to express my emotions of what I’m feeling.  It's like, how do you explain standing in the presence of God?

The Miraculous Circle of Life

The full meaning of the circle of life hit me hard this morning when I went in to see how my daughter was doing.  She had been labor for just over 6 hours and when I walked through the door, she was in the middle of a labor contraction, and when I looked at her...I saw my mom. in almost every detail.  Everything about my daughter at that moment screamed that she was was the spitting image of my mom. The way she sounded, the way she held herself, her profile, how her neck and back felt to my touch as I comforted her all took me back to my own mom. Yet, it was and is my daughter. It was as if I was in a different dimension as one circle had been closed another one was formed and I was standing right in the middle of the two circles to witness it happen.  If that’s not God, I don’t what is.  I believe you can’t get much closer to God’s presence than when you get the privilege to witness or be part of the miracle of the birth of a baby.  I’m hear to tell you, I’ll never forget the realization and feeling I experienced of being part of the connection from the old circle of life to the new circle of life.

Unity

I can’t help but think of how we are all connected and that connection within the circle of life ever evolves and never ends.  The circle is often associated with eternity, perfection, and the unending love and faithfulness of God.  One of the key implications of the circle is its completeness.  It has no beginning or end, suggesting the eternal nature of God’s existence and His everlasting presence in our lives.  In addition, it gives the word “unity” a whole new meaning to me.  Ephesians 4:1-6 explains it very well, “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all”.  I saw that today, it may be a small piece of the pie, but I witnessed it in person, that there is one body, and one spirit, there is one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in us all!   It may be a small piece of the pie, but it’s a gigantic revelation to me to how connected we all are.  🙏 God Bless You

May You Always Walk in the Truth!
